 An explanationWell first off if you're not a Tolkien fan or a mud addict you're in the wrong place. If you're one or the other you're doing good. If you're BOTH then you're going to be in heaven, well Arda, but close enough. Two Towers in the only completely Tolkien based mud I have ever seen. It is based on Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" series. It is completely mapped and inhabited by the places and people from the books. The choices the creators have made for race and profession are truly wonderful. They are extremely complex and very thematic. It is one of the few Worlds I have seen that your alignment is based on what you choose to kill and not a pre-chosen item. They also allow player killing and stealing, but there's a complete law system in place and sheriffs waiting for you to break the law! The creators really deserve a round of applause. The game is always expending with new features and places being added constantly.
Races of ArdaYou can be an Elf, either Silvan or Sindar, Dunedain, Dunlending, Dwarf, Eorling, and a Hobbit, of course, how could you have a Tolkien mud without Hobbits? The creators have made very good descriptions of each and your choice should be considered carefully. Depending on what you want to be some races may be better for you and some worse. Race is a big decision, you may be able to disguise your race, but you can never change it!
Professions of ArdaChoices of profession include: Assassin: Player killing is allowed and these masters of their professions strike fear into the heart of many. Civilian: Not quite perfected yet. Ranger: Healers of Arda and very intune with nature. A formidable forece with their "charmed" friends. Sheriff: Putting criminals behind bars. Actual players resposible for putting the badguys away and protecting Arda. Thief: Stealing is allowed, keep an eye on your pockets. Some are sneakier than others but all would like to take what is yours. Warrior: Fighters of Arda. Tough and rugged they come from all races and love to smash their foreheads into things. Wizard: Magical and powerful. Wizards have many spells to learn and conquer, an experienced Wizard can be quite deadly. The choice of profession is another important one.
